As a caring, involved parent, you are an important partner in maintaining your teenager's health. After your teen's visit, I will spend some time with you to discuss my recommendations and answer your questions. If your teen has private concerns, confidentiality will be maintained, unless your adolescent is in danger. Sexuality and contraception are on the minds of many teens. When the time comes that your teen asks about these topics, I will provide appropriate information and contraceptive methods if needed.
If your teen is coming to the office alone and you are worried about any aspect of their health, please email or call me in advance of the visit.
If you need to speak with me privately, this can be done in one of two ways:
Come to the office visit and speak with me alone before I see your teen. Please let us know you need private time by calling the office in advance.
Call the office to schedule a telephone, videoconference, or in-person appointment without your teen present.
If you think your son or daughter needs to see a medical specialist or mental health professional, please contact me by phone or email. I will refer you to one or more trusted colleagues whose experience would be a good fit for the situation.
